Pat Deutschman was elected to the Citrus County School in 1998 and re-elected in 2002 and 2006. She has served as chairman two times. Pat earned her distinction as a “Certified Board Member “ in 2001 and as a member of the “ Master Board” awarded by the Florida School Boards Association.

For many years Pat served on numerous school advisory councils, parent support organizations, educational advocacy groups, was a Scout leader as well as a youth religious instruction teacher for over 18 years at Our Lady of Fatima church. She has also served on the Board of Directors for United Way of Citrus County, the Florida School Boards Association and is also a graduate of Leadership Citrus.

She has a Bachelors degree in Clinical Chemistry from the University of South Florida and did post-graduate work in Biochemistry at the University of Miami. After working at several large hospitals in both Tampa and Miami as a laboratory technologist and supervisor, she and husband Fred relocated to Citrus County in 1983. He is a partner in the law firm Deutschman & Zakaria. She is the office administrator. The Deutschmans have two children, Jonathan and Alex, both Citrus County schools graduates.
