I am excited about the opportunities that lie ahead for our Citrus High School students, parents, and staff. I am happy to be working with dedicated professionals in an environment based on tradition and a commitment to values, as well as a willingness to embrace change. I began my career in education 27 years ago at Lecanto High School. There I spent 12 years teaching students mathematics, and I loved every minute of it! After that, I worked as a teacher on special assignment in the area of Tech Prep and School To Work. My most rewarding venture followed when I became the Assistant Principal at the Renaissance Center. During those five years, I gained valuable experience in the areas of curriculum, guidance, and behavioral interventions. I enjoyed developing relationships with my staff, students and their families to ensure and maximize student success. After the Renaissance Center, I became an Assistant Principal at Lecanto Middle School. As a graduate of Crystal River High School, I would have never guessed that I would be turning in my blue and gold for black and gold! I am honored to serve as your Assistant Principal and I am looking forward to working with students, parents, community members and the wonderfully qualified staff at CHS to ensure that student success is top priority. I welcome your input and invite you to contact me with any questions, comments or concerns.

When I graduated from Citrus High School, 21 years ago, I never imagined I would return to serve as a member of the faculty. Since 1998, I have served in many different capacities here at CHS. While in college working on my undergraduate degree, I served as a CHS substitute and volunteer. Later, I completed my internship, as well as my first year of teaching here at CHS. In 1999, I left Citrus High School for three short years to teach in Texas and then on the East Coast of Florida at Flagler Palm Coast High School. Each of those schools provided me with a wider range of experiences and vision of what it truly means to be an educator. In 2002, I had an opportunity to return to Citrus High and serve as a teacher. Since then, over the past nine years, I have served in a variety of capacities including working as the English Department Chair, Writing Team Leader, and Assessment Specialist. Now I have been provided the wonderful opportunity and challenge to serve as your Assistant Principal. Citrus High School is a truly unique school. Our administrative team, faculty, and staff are comprised of an extraordinary group of educators committed to making learning and success happen for students. I invite you to stop by to see me.

After graduating from Citrus High School, I furthered my education by earning a Bachelor's of Science Degree from the University of Central Florida in the summer of 1995. I was fortunate to be able to come back to Citrus County to begin my teaching career at Citrus High School at the start of the 1995-1996 school-year. While serving as a teacher at CHS, I also coached many sports. I was given the opportunity to coach football, baseball, softball, weightlifting, and soccer. In 2004, I earned a Master's degree in Educational Leadership from the University of South Florida. In 2005, I began my administrative career at Lecanto Middle School and served in that role one year. In the Fall of 2006, I became a district level administrator for the Citrus County School district for the next four years. Then in the summer of 2010, I became an assistant principal at Citrus High School As a graduate of Citrus High School, it is truly an honor to work in the school where I spent four memorable years as a student, graduating in 1990. As a CHS administrator, it is my wish that all future graduates share in my appreciation and fondness of CHS. I look forward to working with all the terrific staff, students, parents, and the entire Citrus High School community.

It's a GREAT day to be a HURRICANE!

Welcome to Citrus High! It is a pleasure to be a member of the Administrative Team here at CHS. I began my teaching career as a Social Studies teacher and coach in Robinson, IL in 1972. In 1989 my family and I moved to Citrus County and I taught Social Studies at Lecanto High School. I completed my Masters in Educational Leadership at the University of South Florida, while working at LHS. In addition to teaching Social Studies, I served as the ISS coordinator and as an Administrative Intern. Then in 1996-1997 I was the Director of the S.A.I.L. program at Withlacoochee Technical Institute. My administrative career took off in 1997 when I was selected to be an Assistant Principal at Inverness Middle School, where I worked until 2004. In 2004, I transferred to CHS to accept the Assistant Principal position I now hold. The joy of being an educator is to see all students succeed and it's with great pride that I share with you that my four children Bill, Bob, Alicia and Shannon are all graduates of the University of Florida. My wife Suzane, Information Services Coordinator for Citrus County Schools, and I know the value of having our children educated in the Citrus County School system. It is my belief that working together we can make all of our students successful. I find it exciting and rewarding to know that I am serving to make each of our students the promise of tomorrow. Please feel free to stop by or call if there is anything I can help you with.
