Who may participate in AVID?

• Those who desire to do well in school. The potential AVID student must choose to be in the class because he/she wants to do well, not because the parents require it
• Those who have a GPA between 2.0 - 3.5
• Those with appropriate classroom behavior and no history of referrals to the Dean or Principal
• Those with mid to high FCAT scores, from 3 - 5 in both Math and Reading.
• Those with good attendance records
• Those who are willing to commit themselves to a minimum of 90 minutes of homework/studying each night
