Meet our Commissioner's Academic Challenge Team! These six students competed this week in our District Academic Buzz Off held at Withlacoochee Technical College
Congratulations to Brendan Baumer, Senior at Citrus High School; Aiden Bush, Junior at Lecanto High School; Sumanth Chandrupatla, Junior at Lecanto High School; Ethan Hooper, Junior at Lecanto High School; Ashton Wielang, Sophomore at Citrus High School; Maxwell Wolff, Senior at Crystal River High School
The students, coached by John McNeill (teacher at CRH), will compete at the 35th Annual Commissioner’s Academic Challenge in April at Disney’s Yacht Club Resort. Our participation in this statewide tournament is made possible through a team grant provided by the Florida Department of Education. There is no cost to the students or schools.

High school students from across the state participating in this tournament will be challenged in the areas of language arts, mathematics, science, social studies, fine arts, world languages, physical education, health, and technology. Participating students have the opportunity to win one of six $1000 scholarships, a championship ring, trophies, and medallions. Students will also get to spend time in one of the Disney theme parks during their stay.

The public is invited to attend the tournament. There is no charge for admission. The event is also live-streamed via Facebook.

REMINDER -> Our 2019 District CAC Team placed 2nd at the statewide tournament and one of our students won one of the six $1000 scholarships! Best of luck to our team this year!
