The Kite
Runner

"Powerful...Haunting" - New York Times

The Kite runner takes place in modern day war torn afgsanistan, following the story of Amir; the son of a wealthy man, and their Hazara servant, Hassan. Hassan and Amir grew up together, but they were never equal, because Hassan was born into a shunned social class. When the Soviets invade Afghanistan, Amir and his father flee the country..but Amir can't escape his past - his memory of Hassan.

The Kite Runner is a deep and moving story - one of fear, betrayal, love, redemption. Its twists and turns will leave you shocked to your foundation. This is a book that will stay in your mind for a long time, and I highly recommend it.
