Panthers PE Prowl

Welcome to the site of an award winning elementary physical education program.  Our school has been a Florida Demonstration School and National Satellite Center for the NDN project: Every Child a Winner.  Lecanto Primary's physical education program combines vigorous activity with problem solving and critical thinking to provide students with a joy and a desire for movement for a lifetime.   We believe in having the maximum number of children actively engaged in every physical education class.  We are a movement based program emphasizing in traditional sports skills, dance and gymnastics. Young children develop physically at different rates.  At LPS, our physical education program enables all children to participate, despite their differences. We believe that all students should feel successful in physical education.  You will never see a child picked last, used as a target or eliminated from a game. divider

Parents- Here are some ideas of how you can promote a healthy lifestyle with your children.

NOT ALL SHOES ARE MADE EQUAL!
Please remember that all students need to have appropriate footwear for PE class.  Please make sure that your child has sneakers with flat bottoms that have laces that tie on top of the sneaker.   Majority of PE classes are outside in the sun, please have your child bring a water bottle for immediate access to water.  Also, children may bring a hat and/or sunglasses to PE class.
