The Citrus County Education Foundation and The United Way of Citrus County have partnered with Citrus County Schools to bring Dolly Parton's Imagination Library to our community.
As educators, we know that reading regularly with children during their preschool years provides them with a strong boost toward a successful education. There are many reasons parents do not read to their children, but Dolly Parton's Imagination Library can eliminate one of them. Through the Imagination Library program, each participating child receives, free of charge, a carefully selected book in the mail.
How is the Imagination Library funded?
It costs approximately $30 per year or $150 for five years to serve each enrolled child. Funds are raised in our local community. Organizations, businesses, civic clubs, parents and other individuals may contribute to the program.
Who is eligible to participate?
Preschool children (birth until their fifth birthday) of Citrus County may participate.
How can children be enrolled in the program?
Parents or guardians must complete an official registration form and submit to the Citrus County Education Foundation.
How can parents obtain the official registration form? Forms are available in all Citrus County public schools and libraries, our District Services Center, and in various other locations such as hospitals and doctors' offices. Please click here for downloadable pdf form.
How can I help promote this program?
Do you know a preschool child in Citrus County? Encourage his or her parents to obtain a brochure/registration form, fill it out, and submit it to the Citrus County Education Foundation. If you are the parent of a preschool child, be sure to enroll him or her in the program.
