Substitute Teachers - Instructional
What are the requirements to be a Substitute Teacher within the Citrus County School District?
- At least 18 years of age
- High school diploma (or GED)
- Be accessible by phone
- Current valid driver’s license and social security card (the name on your application must match the name on your driver’s license and social security card)
- Complete a background check (fingerprinting) and drug test
How do I become a Substitute Teacher within the Citrus County School District?
- Complete the Substitute Teacher online application and submit all required documents online at https://skyfin.citrus.k12.fl.us:444/scripts/wsisa.dll/WService=wsFin/rappljoblst483.w.
- Once your application and required documents have been reviewed, and your references have been verified, you will be contacted by our Human Resources department for an interview.
- If offered a position within the Citrus County School District, applicants will be scheduled for a background check (via fingerprinting) and drug testing. The fee for fingerprinting is $51.25 and the fee for drug testing is $35.00. Applicants are required to pay for background check (fingerprinting) and drug testing – both are non-refundable fees and paid separately.
- Complete ALICE online training - Citrus County Schools online safety program – informational website: https://learn.navigate360.com/learn
- Complete in-person Substitute Teacher training – this will be scheduled through Human Resources after ALICE online training has been completed.
- You cannot be placed on the substitute teacher list until all above requirements have been completed.
