Through the USDA’s Community Eligibility Program (CEP), the Citrus County School District is excited to again be offering FREE Breakfast and Lunch for all students for the upcoming 2024-2025 school year.

We understand the importance of knowing your children will be fed at school without any cost, and we're proud to take this burden off our families' shoulders. There are no forms to fill out, no financial requirements.

In its third year in Citrus County, all county public schools are participating in the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Community Eligibility Provision (CEP) program, offering nutritious food for any student who wants it.  Also, students who bring a partial packed lunch with just an entree can choose three free items to balance out their meal.

Citrus Schools will also be offering the “Super Snack.” In addition to breakfast and lunch, all students in a qualified after-school program, such as athletics, band, YMCA, etc., will receive a nutritious snack.

During the 2023-2024 SY, Citrus County Schools Food and Nutrition Services Department served 857,695 FREE student breakfasts and 1,778,628 FREE student lunches. This resulted in 4,819 FREE student breakfasts per day and 9,992 FREE student lunches per day.
