This graduation season, we proudly honor not only the Class of 2025
—but also three extraordinary veterans whose service and sacrifice paved the way for future generations.
In accordance with Florida law, which allows the Commissioner of Education to award high school diplomas to honorably discharged veterans who left school early to serve our country, Dr. Hebert is humbled to recognize and present diplomas to Jerry Frease, Bill Merryman, and Claude Gregoire at our three high school graduation ceremonies this coming week.
These men answered the call of duty and placed service before self. During this year’s Purple Heart Family Picnic yesterday, Dr. Hebert had the privilege of presenting each of them with their Army stoles—symbols of their dedication, to be worn with pride at their respective graduation ceremonies.
On behalf of Citrus County Schools, we thank you for your service and celebrate this long-overdue milestone in your educational journey. Congratulations, graduates!
