ESSA

The Every Student Succeeds Act (ESSA) was signed by President Obama on December 10, 2015. It represents good news for our nation’s schools. This bipartisan measure reauthorizes the 50-year-old Elementary and Secondary Education Act (ESEA). This is the nation’s national education law and longstanding commitment to equal opportunity for all students.

The new law builds on key areas of progress in recent years. This is made possible by the efforts of educators, communities, parents, and students across the country.


The Elementary and Secondary Education Act of 1965 as amended by the Every Student Succeeds Act (ESSA), requires every state and district to publish report cards that show how the state, district and schools are doing regarding student achievement and success.  As a parent, you can access these reports online by visiting the following link:  https://edudata.fldoe.org
