One of our goals within the school district is to build teachers from within our schools. We honored three teachers during our regular school board meeting today who have graduated from our Para Pro to Teacher program in partnership with
St. Leo University. This partnership with St. Leo's started more than 2 years ago.
Katrina Metzler served as the Title 1 Federal Program Assistant in the Ed Services Department. She graduated in December 2020 from St. Leo and was hired at Hernando Elementary as a 1st-grade teacher.
Kelly Brady served as a Para Pro at LHS. She graduated in December 2020 from St. Leo and was hired at CRMS as an English Language Arts teacher.
Emilie Kimmons served as a Para Pro at HES. She also graduated in December 2020 from St. Leo and was hired at CRE as a 1st-grade teacher.
As of today, our school district has 15 Para Pros in the Para Pro to Teacher program. Four of them are set to graduate by June of 2021.
Congratulations to these hard-working educators and all of their accomplishments!
