Substitute Teachers - Instructional

 What are the requirements to be a Substitute Teacher within the Citrus County School District?

  • At least 18 years of age
  • High school diploma (or GED)
  • Be accessible by phone
  • Current valid driver’s license and social security card (the name on your application must match the name on your driver’s license and social security card)
  • Complete a background check (fingerprinting) and drug test

 

How do I become a Substitute Teacher within the Citrus County School District?

  1. Complete the Substitute Teacher online application and submit all required documents online at https://skyfin.citrus.k12.fl.us:444/scripts/wsisa.dll/WService=wsFin/rappljoblst483.w.
  2. Once your application and required documents have been reviewed, and your references have been verified, you will be contacted by our Human Resources department for an interview.
  3. If offered a position within the Citrus County School District, applicants will be scheduled for a background check (via fingerprinting) and drug testing. The fee for fingerprinting is $51.25 and the fee for drug testing is $37.70. Applicants are required to pay for background check (fingerprinting) and drug testing – both are non-refundable fees and paid separately.
  4. Complete ALICE online training - Citrus County Schools online safety program – informational website https://www.alicetraining.com/
  5. Complete in-person Substitute Teacher training – this will be scheduled through Human Resources after ALICE online training has been completed.
  6. You cannot be placed on the substitute teacher list until all above requirements have been completed.
