WELCOME TO CITRUS COUNTY SCHOOL SPECIAL ACADEMIC PROGRAMS

Citrus County is proud to offer 5 special academic programs!  Below you will find information and application QR codes to apply to one of our special academic programs.  Here are some key points that apply to all programs.

  • Any student in the county can apply to any program
  • Busing is provided to all students to attend these programs
  • Most students apply to one of these programs in 8th grade for matriculation the 9th grade year
  • If you are already in high school or transferring from other district or state, please contact the program’s coordinator for information on the application process

The Academy of Computer Science
The Academy of Computer Science is a 4-Year Program. Students can take Advanced Placement and/or Dual Enrollment classes as well.

The Academy of Health Careers
The Academy of Health Careers is a 4-Year Program with multiple pathways leading to job-ready, industry certifications in various fields of study. Students can take Advanced Placement and Dual Enrollment classes while participating in their chosen pathway.

Lecanto School of the Arts
The Lecanto School of the Arts
The Lecanto School of the Arts is a 4-year program where students can earn college credit or industry certifications for their art portfolios in 2D Art, 3D Art, and Animation.

The Academy of Environmental Science
The Academy of Environmental Science is a 2-Year Program for 9th and 10th grade students.  Students will have a heavy emphasis on science classes along with a strong honors curriculum.

The International Baccalaureate Diploma Program
The International Baccalaureate Diploma Program is a 2-year program for juniors and seniors. Students begin in 9th grade, however, and take Pre-IB classes. Students in IB can also take Advanced Placement classes but cannot take Dual Enrollment.
